Liebster Award 2016

First let me apologise the blog will be up later today got busy with sports relief stuff and though it is filmed I have not edited it yet, I shall do so when I get home from work xxxx

Liebster Award

I was nominated for the Liebster Award by Ellie over at Quotidiandose feel free to pop over and check out not only her answers but also her blog in general as it is well worth a visit.

liebster-award-large

This is how it works:

  • Thank my nominator  – Ellie you are awesome!
  • Share the award on my blog !
  • Answer the 10 questions asked of me
  • Ask 10 questions of 10 new nominees
  • Notify them – This is the bit that annoys me lol hopefully pingback will work

So here we go…

  1. Why did you decide to blog?  I decided when I turned forty to stop procrastinating and start writing properly, I had always done little bits here and there but never applied myself so writing a blog was something that was suggested to me at the same time. It was a great way for me to build my confidence and slowly start sharing my thoughts and words and also turned out to be a brilliant way to make a few friends.
  2. Do you have themes that you blog about? (Such as  food, writing, sports, psychology, etc.) The main topic on my blog is writing but I do tend to veer off frequently, it has become a mix of sharing both my writing and my life, so hopefully it lets people get to know me better as a person and get to know how my mind works, I even include a monthly review of a beauty box I buy and I know a few people who are not into make up and beauty still enjoy it because the love the fact I am so honest about me feelings on the things I receive in it.
  3. What is the typical length of one of your blog posts? (word count) Well this one will be longer than a lot of them but that is because half the words are pre written for me lol I try to keep my blog posts to between 500-750 words, I know as a reader if I have a lot of blogs built up in my inbox I will read the ones I know will be shorter first and I know a lot of my readers have similar time constraints meaning they cannot always read all the blogs they would like to. I do not take it personally if someone stops visiting my blog or only pops by occasionally, we all have such incredibly busy lives with our own blogs and writing and reading is always the first thing to suffer.
  4. Are you part of a bloggers network? If so, how has it been beneficial? Not as such, but I do take part in the A – Z challenge each year through April which I find is a great way to find new blogs and get to know new people I tend to pick a couple of new blogs each year and follow all their posts and have always ended up staying on following them afterwards, it is not too late to sign up for this year if you are interested http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com/p/a-z-challenge-sign-up-list-2016.html
  5. How many times a month do you post  on your blog? I try to post daily, but that does not mean I always succeed or that I actually write on my blog daily. For example I post book reviews on a Monday, usually what I try to do is write the review as soon as I finish the book and queue them although at the minute I am up to date I need to start reading quicker.
  6. Who were the last three followers to your blog? My latest three followers have been Gryffindor Queen over at https://thatweirdbrowngirl.wordpress.com, https://swo8.wordpress.com/ and Mona at https://tishowthelightgetsin.wordpress.com/
  7. If you could meet three historical people from any point in time, who would they be? First up Marilyn Monroe, I want to know what happened that evening was it an accident or was she murdered, I do not believe it was deliberate suicide, Boudica, I am fascinated by the idea of the warrior queen, those who have had sneak peaks of my novel know this so I would love to meet the original but my third choice would also be a queen, Cleopatra, I would love to know how she held the greatest empire to have ever existed in the palm of her hand before losing everything.
  8. Where do you get the inspirations for your posts? Anywhere and everywhere, I think the thing is I think of you all as friends so it makes sense to me to share the same sort of things with you as I would share with friends, books I have read, programmes I have watched, stuff I enjoy and occasionally places I have been.
  9. What is your goal for your blog for 2016? For the next 5 years? This year I want to be more consistent with my posts and write more about more writing, over the next five years I want to start earning a living from writing and be able to quit the day job so I will have to be more focused and not allow myself to get distracted as easily.
  10. What rewards do you have in mind for reaching your goals? Quitting the day job will be the ultimate reward, giving myself the ability to make a living doing something I love and hopefully travelling more as part of that.

And now for my ten nominees…

  1. Bridget Straub
  2. Gemma
  3. Lucy
  4. Heidi
  5. CB Wentworth
  6. Linda
  7. Sandra
  8. Hornygeekgirl
  9. Stephanie
  10. Valentine

You can answer these questions as frivolously or seriously as you each desire I cannot wait to read your responses though

  1. Why did you decide to blog?
  2. Do you have themes that you blog about? (Such as  food, writing, sports, psychology, etc.)
  3. What is the typical length of one of your blog posts? (word count)
  4. Are you part of a bloggers network? If so, how has it been beneficial?
  5. How many times a month do you post  on your blog?
  6. If a fictional character were to write a blog who would you want to write one and why?
  7. Where do you get the inspirations for your posts?
  8. What is your goal for your blog for 2016? For the next 5 years?
  9. What rewards do you have in mind for reaching your goals?

Awards

Just a few things….

admin-ajax.php

Okay really quick post today as I have loads on first although I normally do it on a Saturday I have an award to collect and its a nice new shiny one..

wpHere are the rule thingys by which we must all obey …..

1. Display the award logo on your blog.
2. Link back to the person who nominated you.
3. Nominate others you see as having an impact on your WordPress experience and family. (I didn’t specify any number, just go with those you feel deserve it.)
4. Let your Family members know you have awarded them
5. Post 7 (interesting) things about yourself.

First I need to link to the lovely Ahmin who nominated me, not only is he very talented and generous but also a really nice guy.  In my recent nagging everyone to donate books he sent me 5 and we actually had to wrestle one from the grip of my boss who tried to argue that she should be allowed to read it before it was handed out as a prize.  Please click here to pop over to his page and say hello and learn more about him from his answers.

Now 7 things about me… these get harder and harder to do as I am really not that interesting so don’t blame me if these facts are boring you had all the good ones lol

1) I have been posting a number one for each year leading up to my birthday on my Facebook page The Tams Hey girl don’t bother me was number one the day I was born

2)  Even if I never buy another book with the size of my to read pile and the number of books on my kindle there is a good chance I will still never manage to read them all in my life time.

3)  Even though I know number 2 I will still buy more books.

4)  I once convinced one of my American friends to go into work and ask his work mates how they liked their Spotted Dick and Faggots – I had explained to him what they were but he was not allowed to tell them until afterwards and he had to film it – the results were hilarious.

just incase anyone doesn’t know…

Spotted Dick
Spotted Dick

Faggots

5)  As you know I am a huge Doctor Who fan but I have to admit over the last couple of series Steven Moffat has made me cry over and over again.  Part of me hates the fact I allow myself to get so immersed in fictional characters to thee point where they can make me blub like a baby and to be fair it’s not just Doctor Who all sorts of things set me off but the Doctor River storyline has done it more than any other and here is why (you will be okay unless you watch the show in which case I am sorry here’s a tissue)

6)  My other childhood Sci-Fi love was Blake’s 7 Servalan was the ultimate evil bitch and Avon was a character that tore your loyalties, obviously selfish and all his actions were self serving but you were unsure if he was really as bad as you thought and was probably my first real experience of characters who are a real mixture of good and evil.  I know talks are going on about a remake yet again but part of me would rather they just enhanced the existing series I love the characters to much as they have been played to see other people in the roles (sorry about the poor quality but it seems mos clips have been removed)

7)  Not a very flattering picture this one but me with my little brother and his new wife on Saturday OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Now to pass the award on and I am just going to pick a few people and give the reasons I am nominating them.

Emily Guido – Emily is a lovely lady and like the others I will be nominating has moved beyond the classification of fellow blogger to friend, even though as with the some of the others there is physically an Ocean between us and the chances of meeting in real life are slim you know with some people you would just click.

Heidi – one of the first blogs I started following on WP but now much more than that, we are great friends on Facebook laugh at the same pictures and coo over each others little boys, she has become like a sister I have never met and is one of the few people that I have trusted to read the novel, for which I am grateful for her feed back though along with one of my other friends Susan we have had a few heated debates regarding spelling and word choice lol.  Oscar Wilde I believe it was who once said something along the lines of the UK and US are very alike except for the language lol

M.S Fowle – Mel has always been a huge support, she created my wonderful Voices cover and has offered help when I am ready to face the formatting nightmares but more than that she takes the time to send an email when she knows I am down despite the chaos she must have with a job, kids, writing and cover design, a few people comment they don’t know how I get everything done well that is nothing compared to this ladies workload.

Wicca303 – the final one for my quartet of nominations and holds the distinction of being the first fellow blogger I have met in the flesh.  We met on a very wet and windy day for coffee and due to the downpour we did not take pics but hopefully we are meeting up for lunch and a natter again next week and we might consider a pic then we will see lol.

So there you go please check out these ladies if you are not already acquainted with them, I could have chosen so many of you but I would be here all day.

Awards

Inner Peace

inner-peace-award.

It has been a while since I did an awards post but if I missed one you sent please don’t be upset I still have literally thousands of posts to catch up on that I will manage one day lol

The very talented Andrea Black has nominated me you can check out here blog and learn more about her with her acceptance post http://andrearblack.com/2013/07/21/inner-peace-award-and-sunshine-award/

The Rule Type Thingys

If You Were Nominated:

1. Display the logo on a post.

2. Thank the person who nominated you and link to his/her site.

3. State seven (7) things about you.

4. Nominate fourteen (14) bloggers and inform them via comment in their blog. (Don’t stress about the number, quality > quantity (unless it’s the first draft of a MS, I suppose)

Okay the 7 things about me well you know lots but the place to really find out more is on my Facebook page as I have started scheduling a few daily posts to let people get to know me and what I like a little more but I shall share a few of those posts here and then if anyone really wants to know more feel free to use the button at the top of the page to pop over and visit

1)  3am Insomnia – I have suffered with severe back pain for the last 5 years though I am on the mend now but in the early hours I made friends all round the world so to make sure they get to see a post or two first I schedule a film clips for 3am – in the early hours the internet and your dvd collection become so important so here is one of my favourite clips

2)  Question of the Day – posted at 9am this is usually on a topic which ties in with that days blog post though not always the reason for it is I love to hear how other people see thing and compare them to my own views for example a question about time travel resulted in me wanting to go to ancient Egypt to see Cleopatra but one friend wanting to go back and save her grandmas life so she could introduce her to her grandchildren another wanted to jump forward to meet her grandchildren as her son is dragging his feet producing them lol. One question so many ways to see the world

3)  Coffee Cacophony – I love music and can frequently be found wandering round with ear phones in and tunes blasting (far too loud according to my daughter) when I first started posting this it was earlier in the day literally when I got back from the school run and sat down with my coffee and shared which ever the first song had been on my random playlist.  Now I post it at lunchtime but as that is also a coffee time I left the title alone

4)  Art Inspiration – as you know I like to scribble occasionally but what you might not know is I actually attended Art College for a time after school, sadly it wasn’t for me I just was not that talented but I was left with a love and appreciation for art so now I share a piece of art work I like at 6pm daily and on a Friday I try to choose one which will get people joining in a caption competition.  I do love the fact that once one person admits they like art you find more and more do I don’t understand why people feel they cannot admit to liking things like art and classical music without fear of judgement.

monetbridge

5)  What I read today – well basically this could be you lol I read so many blog posts a day and find so many that I would love to share but it would spam my news feed so at 9 pm each day I now share a post I have read – I will confess they may not always be read the day you publish them as always I am behind in my reading but determined one day to catch up some of you may notice that you get half a dozen likes on one day lol I had to cut back on the number I was attempting to get through each day but I now try to read each new week day post then catch up with weekend posts and the back log when and if I have spare time.

6)  Final Thought of the Day – I noticed a lot of people using quotes to fill in blog posts and really didn’t want to do that while there are many quotes whose thoughts and sentiments I shared I want the blog to be about my thoughts so having a quote scheduled to end each day on Facebook allows me to share words of wisdom I come across still without it taking a blog post to do it

When we remember we are all mad, the mysteries disappear and life stands explained.
Mark Twain

7)  I am no where near as organised as the first 6 things may suggest – my organisation comes from necessity and is something I constantly have to work at

I should now spend ages picking 14 people and notifying them but its the school holidays and I really don’t have time so this award goes to the first 14 people to hit the like button.  Please accept it and let me know a little more about you

super-sweet-blogging-award21w6451liebster-award

As you can see I have been rather slack in accepting awards lately and I apologise whole-heartedly to every who has nominated me it really does still mean lots to me.  I have provided links at the top of this post to all those who nominated me please check out their blogs.  As I am so far behind I am going to cheat slightly by answering the questions provided by Jackie Dennis with her award nomination, I should explain that her blog is a family tree blog so the questions relate to that but as I have done some research into my own family tree it is something which fascinates me.

1. Why do you blog?

I started blogging as a way of practising my writing and getting feed back to help me improve but it is the wonderful people I have met through blogging that keep me coming back every day.

2. When do you blog, are you a morning person or a night owl?

I am actually a night owl but tend to write my blog on a morning for the next day (though it doesn’t always work out that way) then I can spend the rest of the day and evening getting stuck into writing and not have to worry about breaking off to write a blog post.

3. Who is your most interesting ancestor?

Hmm this is tough I would guess my Great Grandad Michael Acton as there seemed to be so much mystery around him which actually turned out to just be something tragic rather than bad

Memorial Victory medal

4. Have you learnt anything from looking back?

That very rarely do we know where we really come from,  I don’t mean just geographically but but that for every generation the choices they make changes who we will become, only a couple of generations ago half my family were Catholic if that had not changed then I might not be here.

5. Did your family move around a lot?

One side of the family were very much situated in one area but the rest moved around quite a lot a trait which continues to this day.

img002

6. Have you always written?

Always but I never kept it when I was younger probably from fear of my sister finding it and using it to embarrass me with

7. Is it more about the writing, or the researching your family for you?

The two are separate, my blog is about writing and the family research is something personal that I have undertaken with other family members, but the writing bears extra poignancy when I consider a couple of generations ago family like my Great Great Grandma Annie Sophia in this picture could neither read nor write, her whole life was dedicated to working in a factory then bring up children and grandchildren.

great great grandma callis

8. Do you have a filing system?

Errrmmm does stuffing things n box files count as a filing system?????????

9. Is it just you doing this, or do you involve the family?

I have other family members from different sides of the family who are also looking into things we were all actually already doing it and only discovered the joint interest when I approached them for information

10. Have you found new family members you didn’t know about?

I have though not living ones but there were children who passed away whose names had never been mentioned again which seems really strange to us today.

I am not going to nominate people if you do not have either of the two awards I have features please accept it from me and answer the same questions that Jackie gave me I would love to know more about your experiences with your ancestors.

11. How far back have you gone?

In terms of knowing real information about people the mid 1800’s but I can trace back in terms of names and dates to 1596

Blog of the Year Part 2

Well here we go I now have all six stars yay!!!!!!!!

Please pop over to part one here to see the first four star nominators and the rules here.

So before I get on to dishing out some more stars let me thank the ladies who have given me my last couple of stars.  Firstly Chelsea over at The Jenny Mac Book Blog her mix of writing and video keeps you entertained and heading back for more but what really impresses me about this young lady is her determination to make a positive stand against bullys.

My final star comes curtesy of Heidi being the rule breaker she is she sent it back at me, she has suffered from some negative feedback and is now slowly bouncing back, I believe Heidi really has the talent to be a star she just needs to believe in herself and find her niche.

Soooooo time to hand out some more stars…

Joanne Phillips

Dianne Gray

Maddie Cochere

Maggie Myklebust

Bridget Straub – now technically Bridget did actually send me a star aswell but as I am only allowed to collect 6 I am gonna pretend I didn’t see hers so I can send one back at her 😀

Okay thats it for this one I have been thrilled and amazed to receive all 6 stars yay!!!!!!!!!!!!! But the best bit is getting to spread them round to you guys.  Right am going to carry on working out my new years writing resolutions for new years days post.

Awards · So it's Saturday

Blog Of The Year

I have been terribly lax in accepting awards lately so today I am going to make a start and try to get as many done as possible though if the post gets too long I may have to split them into seperate posts.

I have received a couple of nominations for this one so lets get right to it…Blog of the Year 2012.

The “Blog of the Year” award is a little different from some other awards, because you accumulate stars.

Here are the ‘rules’ for this award:

1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award

2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.

3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/ and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)

4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them.

5 You can now also join our Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience

6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…

Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!

Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!

When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!

There are a total of 6 stars to collect.

Which means that you can check out your favourite blogs, and even if they have already been given the award by someone else, then you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!

For more information check the FAQ on The Thought Palette.

Okay so I have a couple of people to thank for this award. Check out their blogs by clicking on their name.

Firstly the lovely Miss Tribble

What can I say about this wonderful lady except I stand in awe of her.  She has overcome some terrible things in life and continues to battle living with an eating disorder and suffering from epilepsy, yet she does so with warmth humour and an amazing giving spirit to help others.  I have even forgiven her for going to the Discworld convention and not smuggling me in her suitcase and look forward to discussing Doctor Who over christmas with her.

Next up Vikki @theviewoutside

Where do I start with Vikki hers was one of the first blogs I found and she has been inspiring me ever day since.  I am terribly jealous of the writing retreats she has been on but grateful I can live them vicariously through her posts.  I know she has absolutely no idea just how talented she is and how much she inspires others and I really do believe if we could ever persuade her the sky would be the limit for her.

And my next nominator is Terry1954

She is possibly one of the lovliest people I have met through blogging/  This year has been tough for her she has seen her brother who she cares for deteriorate due to Parkinson’s disease and has now had to face her worst fear and accept she cannot do anymore. Al is now in a home and she seeks to adjust to her new found freedom but also her guilt at having it and her own feelings as she fights off depression.

And finally from the wonderful Renee

Sometimes you connect with someone and despite the fact you may never meet you just click well that is Renee, she has become one of those members of my blogging family that I smile when ever I see her posts.  She is so incredibly talented whatever genre she puts her pen too and let me say her erotica is some of the post sensual I have read and has been known to leave me a little hot and bothered at times so not always one for reading at work or on the bus lol.

Now to do the nomination post…

Firstly I would like to nominate those four special ladies I have just mentioned I know normally you cannot nominate straight back but given I have four I think it is perfectly acceptable for the reasons listed above.  Next up is my beloved Rhonda, I was supposed to meet up with her during her recent UK visit but it coincided with my surgery I love her take on her trip here and every time I read her posts I smile.

Next up is The Reclining Gentleman dont let the image fool you this guy is more than just a laid back gent he writes erotic most blokes couldn;;t even visualise let alone put into words and I also know from his Choonsday posts the guy has rhythm 😀

And onto MsKatykins my Udolpho partner and another blogging sister, she actually gets two nominations one for her own blog which has me laughing out loud on a regular basis, the other for her Spineless Wonders who have my son as their number one fan

On to Ahmin who has had an amazing year and continues to go from strength to strength as great reviews for his book pour in, I love the fact he gives so much back, visiting book groups and the fact his love for his family flows from his page

Next up my girl Emily Guido, at the start of the year she had self published a couple of books from her Light Bearer Series the start of a new year sees her with a publisher, her books hitting Amazon in paperback and her going from strength to strength.  She is an inspiration to never lose faith in your work.

Next is Hunter over at Hunter’s Writing I have been fascinated by her posts exploring the technology surrounding writing little did i know there was a Second Life habitat for writing and as soon as I get my new laptop I shall be heading out there to take a look round.

Over to T.W. Dittmer if you ever needed someone to watch your blogging back this is a guy you could rely on.  He has been an amazing support in my time here blogging and always has constructive points to make.

Next the wonderful Crazy Train To tinky Town who has shared a view of Turkey that has made me laugh, smile and cry and occasionally all at the same time, one day one of us will get a book deal and when that one goes on their book signing tour we will be meeting up for a coffee 😀

The final three I am going to pick are Heidi, Robin and Mel, these three special ladies have been amazingly supportive of me (as all my followers have been to be honest) but they have given me confidence on days when I have had none and made me smile during the worst days.

I really could carry on all day as there are so many of you I would give it to but this post has already grown longer than I intended maybe I shall get the final two stars and get to add some more names to the list. xxx

I am also going to cheat today and not name nominees basically for today if you have not had one of the awards then please accept it from me as it is clearly an oversight which needs to be corrected, the problem is you are all so wonderful everyone assumes you already have been given it.

The lovely S.L over at The Urge To Write has nominated me for the Beautiful Blogger Award she is fairly new to blogging so I hope lots of you will stop by and lend her your support as you did me when I started.

The Rules…

  1. Write a little something about the Beautiful Blogger who nominated you. See above and don’t forget to go and check her out too.
  2. Share 7 things about yourself.
  3. Nominate for this award 7 worthy beautiful bloggers.

I have also been honoured by Ahmin, who I watch go from strength to strenth with inpired wonder,  with this one

The One Lovely Blog Rules of Acceptance

Thank the person/people who nominated you and link back to them in your post.
Share seven possibly unknown things about yourself.
Nominate fifteen or so bloggers you admire.
Contact the chosen bloggers to let them know and link back to them.

As always I am flattered beyond belief with nominations but then quake as I realise that it requires 7 more things to amuse you.  I mean what else can I tell you that you will find interesting?

here goes…

1) today is my birthday not very interesting for you but for me it means I survived another year lol

2) I bought myself a birthday pressie

3) I made this, hand sewing every patch, it has seen better days and was actually supposed to be a tea cosy when it started back in high school

4) I am constantly on the quest to lose weight but have just discovered a new temptation

5) I actually have a designated letter writing box.  I got it years ago when I actually used to write to my gran a lot and have just restocked it as need dictated, the last few years it hasn’t had much use but recently I realised how much I miss sending proper letters so plan on making the effort again if anyone fancies receiving a random letter or christmas card email me or message me via my fb page with your address you never know what the postie might bring

6) and 7) I love charity shop rummaging and a couple of weeks ago picked up this crystal mini vase perfect for holding my quill pen the other thing as you can see is I also have a habit of picking up stray feathers, I did have more but you guessed the puppy chewed them!

Now for nominations I have decided to pick on some of the newer blogs I have followed and they can pick either award depending which they already have

Silver Quill Blogger Award

The Sliver Quill Blogger Award

Okay so my quill pen is actually lilac but the wonderful Rhonda has deemed me worthy of an upgrade, many people knock the internet but I cannot thank it enough for allowing me to get to know wonderful people I never would have met otherwise and this special lady is right up there with the best and in a few weeks if all goes to plan I shall get to meet her in person and I cannot wait. You can check out Rhonda’s answer here.

The rules for this award:

If you choose to accept, are to paste the logo of this award on the top of your post. Thank the person who nominated you. Answer the questions below. Nominate five or more people, list them and let them know that they have been nominated.

The Questions

1- Do you prefer rhyming or non-rhyming poetry?

I am easy when it comes to reading poetry and enjoy both if I am writing it then non rhyming I feel the flow of the words is more important to me than rhyming

2- What’s your favorite Shakespeare Play?

A Midsummer Nights Dream, fairies and humour what more could a girl want

3- Who is your favourite author?

Hmmm actually a tough one as I love so many different genres but I guess overall I have to go with Jane Austen

4- Name three people who you greatly admire.

Hmmm not as easy as it seems, do they have to be alive?  Am saying not for my answers

1. My great grandad who went off to fight in the first world war for a country that had treated him like a second class citizen just to try to provide a better life for his family (okay it didn’t work out that way but the fact he went still changed our family forever)

2. Elizabeth I, a strong woman that took no bull and refused to be forced into marriage in order to secure her reign, okay she had her bad side but don’t we all

3. Boudicca, the woman who inspired in part my novel, strong, brave in the face of certain defeat and unwilling to surrender to save herself.

5- What’s your favourite album ever?

Hmmm has to be…Rio by Duran Duran I can’t listen to it without smiling, partly because the music is still so good and partly because of all those dreams it inspied in a young girl

6- Which primary color do you most dislike?

Not sure I really dislike any of them but maybe blue  because as a child I was always dressed in blue with my two sisters stood either side of me in pink

7- Name a song or a poem that makes you feel emotional.

There are so many for so many different reasons, but one that sticks out is The Cars – Drive even to this day I canno hear it without seeing those Live Aid images, for those who know what I mean I apologise for the clips but for those who are too young to remember I dare you to watch it all the way through without a tear.

So on with the nominations
