Okay I am not sure if this will work. A couple of years while at University we had to create some form of presentation describing our own historical relationship with ‘Colonial’ issues. I had been doing my family tree at the time and had hit a brick wall on my dad’s side which I have still not managed to break through. his family came from Ireland around the time of the potato famine. I lost points for not being very creative on the technical side but hell I was a mature student that had only just mastered using the basics of the computer lol Hmmm just tried previewing seems that didn’t work you can only watch by clicking on the link at watching through powerpoint. It seems unless I wish to spend extra cash it cannot be converted…..love how they can do it if you pay but not for free! For now I have to leave it at this if you can watch it then yay! If not I shall continue scratching my head until I find a better way to do it…..hmm doesn’t seem to work at all so. skip clicking the link and I will work on it later If anyone has any ideas then please let me know until then I must go to the day job

yes the problem is many irish records were destroyed so the only hope would be parish records but with such a common name in irelad and such a large area unless I find something that narows down the area it will be next to impossible unless I get a lucky break my fathers family never discussed where they came from

it was a shame as I had actually got a voice over on it that told the story of my great granddad and his history will keep trying to find a way to redo it

She also said you can try researching church records, but I’m not sure how to go about doing that. She said she’s stuck on her father’s side of the family as well. They were also Irish.
