Did you miss me?

Did you miss me? Or even notice I was gone? Only kidding, the official verdict on the laptop is it is on its last legs and cannot be fixed, hopefully by only using it for short periods at a time it will hang on in there for a few weeks until I can afford a new one.  I realised one serious error I dd make when I bought this one…I bought it on offer so I got a huge memory for a really good price the down side is now that I need to spend more to get the same memory again so I can shift over all the stuff I put on this one.  I shall of course be going through the programme and seeing what can go, you know what I mean software for cameras and phones I no longer use all that sort of stuff and have been sorting out backing up everything onto the portable hard drive (thank god I bought that).

I will catch up with reading all your blogs as soon as I can, expect lots of likes but probably not so many comments while I do this as I can only stay online a short period of time in one go.  If you would all like to stop posting for a day or two that would help lol only joking just know I will read them all eventually.

On the writing front I now have the outlines for 14 ghost stories scribbled in notebook for the collectio and am quite excited about a couple of them now starts the proper writing to get them all down.  Also hopefully by the end of today I should know whether the short story I submitted to the WOCA anthology has been accepted or not, am quite nervous about this as it will be my first acceptance or rejection so either way it is a first I can learn from.

Any way for now keeping the posts short would hate the computer to shut down half way through typing one lol

    1. When I get my new one it will be kept away from puppy this time I might even have to consider getting a safe to lock it in so the little bugger can’t get his teeth and claws anywhere near it 😀

  1. yeah, you were missed – have you thought of buying an external hard drive? it might mean you can buy a laptop with less memory and therefore save money

    1. I do have an external hard drive thats where I have been backing everything up to so I know I can do with a little less memory the one I have now is 8gb am hoping I can get it down to only needing 6 or even 5 part of the problem i have found with the external drive is somethings especially music for some reason says it is wrong format when I try to move it back to the computer itself, not sure if that is me or a problem with changing computers so just keeping fingers crossed at least if i can keep this going until I have the new one I can set up sharing network at home to shift most stufff over easer

  2. I agree with Kyle, get an external hard drive. Even if you get a new laptop they are still way more likely to getting hurt than a desktop and you could lose all your stuff. They are always a good idea whether it’s broken or not. Kyle broke my last one and Adam had to take that little thingie on the inside out and stick it in another laptop to get all the stuff off. Ha ha, I think it was the hard drive (shows what I know about pc’s). And yes! We missed you 😉

  3. The new one just might have all the memory and hard drive you need. I bought mine with standard memory and I keep lots of big programs open all the time: Photoshop, Corel Draw, Lightroom, Photo-Paint, PaintShop Pro, Word, Excel, My organizer system, and the Internet.

    1. Yeah I did read but felt it deserved more than a quick comment so intended going back, what you feel now will pass hun and one day you will look at him and feel nothing except possibly pity that has blown the best thing he could have ever had, some people are destined never to appreciate true love and happiness always believing the grass is greener by the time they do realise it is too late. I will be thinking of tesla until I see a post saying it all went well just remember kids are alot tougher than us adults mainly because they dont understand all the worries lol

  4. 14 stories! Is that as in complete stories, beginning , middle and end? I have umpteen story ideas but but they are mostly just opening scenarios. The end is pretty much the resolution of whatever is the problem to start with but how to get from A to B???
And I haven’t really got a story until I know the answer to that. Usually I just start writing and see what happens but recently I’ve been reading a book which says the route from A to B should all be plotted out before starting to write anything.
Sounds like a recipe not to write anything at all!

  5. Shift everything to an expansion drive first. This will save all your work. I don’t save anything to my hard drive, instead I have three expansion drives plugged into my computer that I can shift to my laptop or a new computer if I need. The expansion drives are inexpensive depending on how much memory you want.

    You won’t regret the purchase.

    Good luck!

  6. It’s hard going when you’re struggling with the technology, it’s awful how much we come to depend on it all! 🙂 Love your ghost stories plan… I am planning a collection of filth! Still trying to work out my pen-name! 🙂 Good luck. 🙂
