Admit it you didn’t even notice I was MIA for two days. Tuesday I woke up early read through the editing I had done Monday night I made sure I hit save but I didn’t close the window. Off I go to check face book before rushing out the door to my grans not thinking any more of it until my return.
My computer is out to sabotage me. While I was being driven round the bend by my aged gran, my computer decided to shut its self down and upgrade itself. No waiting to ask first it just acted as it felt like. And then when I tried to reopen my work the version it offered me was from 4 days prior. Four whole days of editing gone!!!!!
.Now luckily complete disaster was averted as except for one chapter I had uploaded my second drafts to my fb reading group sadly it did mean the last two days have been spent switching between the two to ensure that I haven’t missed anything but am now back on track
I will catch up on all your posts as and when I can I currently have over three hundred in my inbox waiting to be read but editing must come first as I am still behind on my schedule. Wish me luck as I go once more into the breach dear friends…..

Holy crap, Paula! Heads would roll if that happened to me! I’ll tell you what my brother (the computer geek) always tells me: Backup! Backup! Backup! Get a little flash drive to save your writing on (often), and keep it in a safe place.
Now, take deeeeeeeep breath. Everything’s going to okay. 😉

I have one the problem is between toddler and puppy little things keep disappearing lol need to buy some spare ones

I keep mine locked in a fireproof safe under my desk. (I’m a little beyond paranoid. lol)

Technology is great… as long as everything works. Backup. Backup. Backup. Disaster recovery plan. And YES, we noticed, but hadn’t heard anything from the search and rescue team.

search and rescue team has been redeployed to find my memory stick to back up onto, so far they found the tv remote, two batteries, two thomas tank engines and half a dozen odd socks
