Serious question because right now I think the dog ate her! She was here last night because I wrote 1500 words. Then this morning she was gone. The toddler was in such a fool mood this morning it is possible he locked her in a cupboard or scared her so badly she ran away. The puppy has been licking his lips quite a bit so he is a definate suspect in the ‘muse disappearance’.
I am ahead of my target for the week so I know that even if I write nothing tonight I will still be ahead but I am really quite annoyed at her disappearance. That terrible beast ‘fatigue’ got me last night in the middle of a chapter that was going so well. I fought until my eyes would no longer stay open despite numerous matchsticks trying to hold them open but eventually he won. I crawled off to bed leaving the muse happily by the laptop to await my awakening from my slumber. On staggering into the living room via the kitchen for a coffee with toddler whining in my wake I discovered she had gone. I could see no signs of a struggle suggesting she was either surprised or went of her own accord. I sat at the keyboard hoping she would be lured into returning nothing just mindless drivel came from my finger tips. I mean just look at what you are reading? Need I say more? I went off to work surely she would have returned by the time I did but nothing. There has been no ransom note as yet. So if anyone out there has seen my muse can they please give her a cuff behind the ear and send her home so I can write again.
She’s there inside your fingers
Fighting to get out
Peering through your fingernails
Too afraid to shout
She’s there inside your corneas
Swimming in your eyes
And when you least expect it
She’ll jump out and say ‘SURPRISE!’

Mine came back out after I watched that hour long lecture by Ray Bradberry. That was awesome! Sometimes you just need to get pushed. Have fun. Hope you find her again.

She sometimes has to take an enforced break due to family over the weekend so maybe she decided she wanted an extra day as long as she is back by Monday morning I will forgive her

Don’t let her sweet looks fool ya. She’s a slave driver when she wants to be.

Ha ha ha, I shouldn’t laugh, I know, but, excellent post honey 🙂
I hope you find her. Interesting that you say “her” though….I think mine is a bloke, a very moody, Heathcliffe type of guy, who looks a bit like Timothy Dalton when he played the role. He lurks in dark corners and comes out only after I promise to feed him a few scrunched up balls of paper 😉
Loving the look btw 🙂
