Poems To My Younger Self

There are many questions we ask ourselves as we go through life. One that frequently arises is ‘Would I change anything in my past?’ Whilst none of us can alter our histories we can all look back and ponder what we would have advised our younger selves carrying the knowledge we have now.
That is exactly what this anthology does from the point of view of all of the contributing authors. They have done an exceptional job of communicating a vast range of emotions. Each poem that I read inspired me. In some it was the sadness evoked, in others it was the familiarity with the subject matter involved; in all it was the strength and fighting spirit that the authors show as adults who have come through different experiences.
What this book proves is that we are not all so different; that we are all survivors that grow and show strength in many different ways. Although we can’t advise our younger selves on how to do things differently we can advise the next generation. I will be handing the copy to my children to have a read so they can see how strong we can all be.This book is a gem worth every single star.
